Welcome to Our School
We are very proud of our school and look forward to getting to know you and your child. Hazel Wood Infant School was built in 1990 and won awards for its excellent design. We have beautiful grounds and the school is set in the heart of the community in West Totton.
We were delighted that Ofsted recognised our school as "outstanding" in June 2011. Our report stated that "this is an outstanding school. All of the parents and carers are happy with their children's experiences. Typical of their comment received were: 'I cannot speak highly enough about the school... communication is fantastic...it's a school where every child really does matter.' Inspectors agreed with these comments.
The children at our school are enthusiastic learners and we do our very best to make their activities engaging, exciting and successful. We have designed a rich curriculum, which is full of opportunities to explore, question and acquire a love of learning which we hope will remain with our children throughout their lives. Our children are supported by an extremely well staffed team of excellent teachers and assistants and have access to a wide range of resources, including the latest technology.
We believe that education is a partnership between parents and children and ensuring children have a happy and secure first experience of school is very important to us. This is because we firmly believe that working together in partnership brings about the greatest success for children. We welcome parents into school and value their contribution.
